Agaricus silvicola
Dzeltējošā atmatene

Riekstu sārtsporene

Syn.: Leucoagaricus pudicus; Leucoagaricus naucinus; Leucoagaricus leucothites
English name: White Dapperling
Deutsche Name: Rosablättriger Egerlingsschirmling

The diameter of its cap usually varies from 5 to 10 cm. Spore powder is white at first and pink later. Its fruiting body is almost white and has very soft gills. It grows in gardens, parks, meadows, pastures and fields. Its growing season extends from July to October. It is rather common in Latvia. Edible, very tasty when fried without boiling. Do not confuse it with Amanita virosa: that one has pure white spore powder! Some Agaricus spp., which also look similar, have dark spore powder, not pink one.

White Dapperling is white indeed, and even shiny, so it can be confused with the Destroying Angel much too easily!
