Bālā mušmire

Amanita crocea
Oranžā makstsēne

Syn.: Amanita mappa
English name: False Deathcap
Deutsche Name: Gelber Knollenblätterpilz

Vāji indīga sēne. Aug skuju koku mežos skābā augsnē no jūlija līdz novembrim. Tai ir nepatīkama kartupeļu lakstu smaka un pretīga garša. Līdzīga nāvīgi indīgajai zaļajai mušmirei (Amanita phalloides), kurai ir nepatīkama veca medus smarža.

The size of this mushroom can range from 4 to 12 cm in diameter. Its cap has light greenish color. Spore powder is white. It grows in coniferous forests on acidulous soil from July to November. It is very common in Latvia. Some specimens can easily be mistaken for Amanita phalloides (The Death Cap). Slightly poisonous.

Bālā mušmire ir visnotaļ parasta sēne skujukoku mežos.
The False Deathcap is quite common in Latvia's forests.
