The size of this mushroom can range from 4 to 14 cm in diameter. Spore powder is creamy-colored.
It grows in forests and parks, especially under spruce and birch from July to October. It is very common in Latvia.
It is very tasty when boiled, then salted and sour-cream with sliced onions added: it makes an excellent mushroom salad.
One can also pickle them.
Ļoti bieži sastopama bērzlape, Ēdama, jānovāra 10--15 minūtes un ūdens jānolej (jo ir mēreni sīva).
Laba marinēšanai un sālīšanai. Ieteicams lietot kopā ar citām sēnēm.
